Manual

Uberspace is a hosting platform targeted at people who want to look behind the scenes, do things we didn’t anticipate and generally prefer working with a text-based console.

Our objective is to not only host the content you’d like to see on the web, but also to introduce you to Linux and basic shell usage.

Uberspace 8 is currently in the public beta phase. We're working on feature parity with Uberspace 7 but are not quite there yet.

Current Release: v8.0.66 - 2026-02-12

Added:

  • Add Erlang programming language
  • Add Elixir - a functional language running on the Erlang VM
  • Add Clojure programming language
  • Add Nim programming language
  • Add Prolog programming language
  • Add Zig programming language
  • Add TCL programming language
  • We now provide exiftool, nasm, rlwrap

Fixed:

  • nsproxy.service translates 127.0.0.1 to localhost in MariaDB connections and was not started after reboots. We now use WantedBy=multi-user.target to make sure it survives reboots.

Why is my version higher?

Sometimes the version shown on your host may be higher than the newest version listed here. This usually means we have applied minor internal adjustments or hotfixes shortly after a release that do not directly impact user functionality. Such updates are not always included in this changelog.
